With a Blend of skill and versatility, Julian Stanley produces exquisite furniture, much of it inspired by the Italian, French and English classical periods, particularly the 18th century with its colourful and fluid Venetian furnishings, French chairs and eccentric English chinoiserie. Meticulous copies can be made along with his own stunning pieces. The combined skills of woodcarving, furniture-making, drawing and design have led him to develop, among other things, highly personalised carvings and furnishings which reflect the lifestyle and passions of the client. He also undertakes architectural carving, and complete rooms can be designed and furnished, working closley to the client's specifications, to create a unique environment which mirrors the expectations of the individual. Julian's Artistic ablitiy and love of wildlife and birds of prey are reflected in dynamic and figurative sculptures and portrait busts. All work is ultimatley enhanced by the finest gilding, painting and marbling, polishing and upholstery. Working with many top designers, architects, furniture companies and private clients, Julian's combined skills, aquired over a period of more than thirty years, enable him to produce beautiful and very complicated pieces. His work is often commissioned by clients in America, The Caribbean, London, The Middle East and for Private homes in the United Kingdom. Having spent a few weeks in the UAE in 2006, he became expecially interested in designing furniture specifically for the Arab market of today, creating a mix of classical European design with overtones of Arabic decoration. He has also been commissioned to produce work for some beautiful yacht interiors and believes the fluid nature of his work lends itself particularly well to this market.
